Lauded by NPR as a “sartorially resplendent 18-year-old from Philadelphia [who] lives a double life as both an extraordinary pianist and a composer”, Rhyuhn Phallon Green (born May 5, 2006) began piano at the age of 2. Green is known worldwide for his award-winning single, Symbiosis, which has been featured on concert programs by NPR’s Tiny Desk, NPR’s From the Top, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Curtis Institute of Music. Publications have praised Symbiosis as “a wealth of hummable tunes” (NPR ) which has “wowed audiences” (CBS ).
At age 9, In the rock style, he has opened concerts for Korn, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, and more, for the 2015 Rock Allegiance. At the same time, Green began studying piano privately at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he was later accepted for composition at age 17, under GRAMMY® award-winning pianist Michelle Cann. He went on to make his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 12 as a winner of the Crescendo International Competition. After joining the Marian Anderson Young Artist Program at age 16, Green began to study composition under Harvard Rieman and Bakatel Fellow William “Bill” Dougherty. In the jazz style, he worked with Ruth Naomi Floyd and Jaamaladeen Tacuma in their residency at the Clef Club. Since then, he has received commissions and notable performances by the Philadelphia Ballet, Manhattan Brass Quintet, and the Abington Symphony, among others. He is under Dean and Director David Ludwig at the Juilliard School where he is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship. He regularly collaborates with the Juilliard Jazz department, which is under the direction of Wynton Marsalis. As a violinist, Green has worked under the batons of Joseph Conyers and Yannick Nezet-Seguin.

Isaac Ismael Cortijo (b.2005) is a Brooklyn born and raised pianist, composer and conductor. Isaac began playing piano at 3 years old, and picked up several more instruments throughout high school, including the cello, euphonium, French horn, and tuba. Isaac graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy where he had several pieces performed, the most significant one being his wind symphony piece Rebirth which was premiered by the Interlochen Wind Symphony. Additionally, Isaac began conducting his senior year of high school. That following summer, he participated in a program held by the Conducting Institute where he was able to conduct several pieces and learn under Miguel Harth Bedoya, who he has studied privately with. Isaac aims to connect and communicate with his audience through his music to invoke an emotionally rich listening experience. He hypothesized that music, sound and frequency are what connect us all fundamentally as living beings and aims to explore that hypothesis on the Melting Pot. Isaac is a composer at the Juilliard School studying with Director David Ludwig and Amy Beth Kirsten.
